Aluminum

Key properties
  • Resists corrosion from oxygen,water and many chemicals. To increase resistance to corrosion, is alloyed with manganese.
  • Very soft and lightweight in its pure form. To make it stronger and harder, alloys are created with copper or magnesium.
  • Known as Aluminum in USA, and as Aluminium in rest of world.
